At the November 15th Board of Education meeting, we were fortunate to thank numerous individuals and community organizations for their contributions and support of the South Huntington School District.
The South Huntington School District is proud to recognize the South Huntington Public Library for their dedication and commitment to our teaching staff by fostering continued professional development opportunities through continuing education courses as well as making library cards available to all teachers who live out of district. The South Huntington Public Library supports our students by providing community service opportunities for teens and rooms for student testing. In the summer of 2023, The South Huntington Public Library graciously offered to host our Tutor Cats program, highlighting their dedication and commitment to student achievement and our South Huntington Learning Community.
The South Huntington School District is proud to recognize the significant contributions of James Tomeo and Seasonal ‘Scapes. James Tomeo and Seasonal ‘Scapes have shown their dedication and commitment to our South Huntington Learning Family through generous donations of floral arrangements for district events. In the fall of 2023, James Tomeo and Seasonal ‘Scapes donated plantings for the beautification of the Art Gallery Plaza, part of the newly constructed Art Gallery at Walt Whitman High School.

Eliot Lonardo has shown his dedication and commitment to the district by serving on the South Huntington Educational Foundation, volunteering his time for the betterment of all students within our South Huntington Learning Family. For the past two years, Eliot Lonardo, an alumni and resident of South Huntington, has graciously funded a fireworks show for the South Huntington community to enjoy as part of our annual Homecoming celebration.

The South Huntington School District is proud to recognize the significant contributions of Reverend Saba Mchunguzi and the Unity Church of Huntington. For the past 12 years, Reverend Saba Mchunguzi and the Unity Church of Huntington have donated an abundance of backpacks filled with school supplies for those less fortunate in our community, promoting success for all students.
