Huntington residents lined Oakwood Road and gathered at Stimson Middle School to celebrate the annual Unity Fun Day on Saturday, September 17th. This year’s event had a wonderful turnout, with the annual parade beginning at Huntington High School and concluding at Stimson Middle School for an afternoon of festivities and family activities. It was truly amazing to see school district groups, community members, local businesses, not-for-profit organizations, government leaders, dignitaries and more coming together to celebrate the community’s unity, diversity and solidarity.
We were fortunate to welcome the 2022 Grand Marshall and Huntington Town Supervisor, Ed Smyth, along with special guest New York State Attorney General, Letitia James, to this year’s event. Unity Day is truly a labor of love, and we cherish the opportunity to highlight our community’s greatest resource by accentuating the bright, beautiful mosaic that makes us strong.
First held in 2010, Huntington Unity Fun Day has become an annual tradition, with thousands of people turning out to celebrate the community’s unity, diversity and solidarity. For nearly a decade, the Huntington Station Enrichment Center has worked with the Town of Huntington officials and the South Huntington School District to host an annual Unity Day celebration. The goal of Unity Day is to raise awareness and inspire togetherness and solidarity throughout the community. The Unity Parade and Fair was created to bring us all together and celebrate our neighbors, families and local businesses while featuring a star-studded parade, fair, music, food, and fun, in order to shine a bright spotlight upon our accomplishments and showcase the diverse people and programs that make us strong.
We are thrilled to have watched this endeavor grow from a Huntington and South Huntington event to a regional festival. The parade and festival have expanded at record rates, and now includes robust representation from Elwood, Harborfields, Huntington, Northport, Commack, and South Huntington, as well as elected officials, government leaders, scouts, service organizations, law enforcement representatives, religious groups, and not-for-profits from across the town.

We were very fortunate to have NYS Attorney General, Letitia James, speak at Stimson middle School, sharing words to celebrate our community and uplift future generations.
Kids of all ages enjoyed an afternoon of fun with inflatable slides and attractions.
The fair featured vendors, local businesses and not-for-profit organizations in support of our Huntington community.
