Senior Faculty Sports Night 2022 District

Before Thanksgiving break, Walt Whitman’s Senior class took on the high school faculty in an exciting and entertaining series of sporting events in Whitman’s south gymnasium. The annual Senior Faculty Sports Night is always an anticipated event as Seniors look forward to competing against the teachers, showing their youth and exuberance, while the faculty break out their old sweat bands and gym sneakers to show the students that they too have a history of athleticism.

In one of the most competitive Seniors versus Faculty Sports Nights in memory, it’s fair to say it was a fun evening for the annual friendly feud to take place between students and staff. From volleyball to basketball, tug-of-war to musical chairs, each event featured over the top competitive play for a chance at winning this year’s bragging rights.

Thank you to the faculty for coming down to compete and to Mrs. Zamow and the Senior Class Officer team for organizing the event. The event winner went down to the final tug in tug of war.  This year’s Senior Faculty Sports Night win goes to… the Senior Class!

The night started with a few rounds of volleyball to warm up our athletic students and teachers.

The crowd was overjoyed to be cheering on their favorite players.

Mission Impossible always proves which team has the best strategies.

Basketball was wildly competitive as teachers and students alike laced up their sneakers and made their best shots.

Thank you to DQ of Huntington for sponsoring this year’s first ever Blizzard eating contest; it was a brain freeze for all!

The Seniors took the final seat in musical chairs.

Faculty was on the lookout for incoming dodgeballs from students looking to settle the score.

It was an eventful evening for the much loved student-faculty feud!
