The 32nd Annual Frank Gugliotta Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament was held over the winter recess at Walt Whitman’s North Gymnasium.
It was a successful two days over winter break as Walt Whitman High School hosted the annual tournament in honor of Class of 1973 Frank Gugliotta. Day 1 matchups started with JV teams from Jericho and Farmingdale going head to head, followed by Walt Whitman against Cold Spring Harbor. Game 1 wins by Farmingdale and Walt Whitman led to the anticipated JV Championship game on day 2 of the tournament, resulting in The Dalers claiming the JV Championship title.
First round for our varsity teams was equally as exciting, as Farmingdale took on Jericho and Whitman played against Cold Spring, similar to their JV counterparts. Wins by Farmingdale and Cold Spring Harbor in round one led to a neck and neck finals round that ended with Cold Spring Harbor taking the title of this year’s Varsity Tournament Champions.

Whitman's Varsity Team matched up with Jericho for the consolation game on Day 2.
Farmingdale’s junior varsity team took the JV Championship title for the first time in this year’s tournament.
Whitman coaches, along with JV Basketball captain Ethan Jacoutot, accept the runner-up plaque after a close game in the JV Finals.
Both teams went point for point in the final round of the tournament.
Farmingdale MVP, #11 KJ Anderson, and All-Tournament MVP, #21 PJ Haskell of Cold Spring Harbor, were honored at the end of the final game.
