Congratulations to Senior Adelrhany Georges on earning Whitman’s January Athlete of the Month! As the Boys Swim Team captain, Rhany has had an eventful season in his last year at Walt Whitman. Most recently, Rhany qualified for the NYS Championships in the 4x200 relay and will be traveling the first week of March to compete. One of his major highlights in his swim career is when the Swim Team went upstate for the NYSPHSAA meet last year and placed 2nd in NYS. Good luck and congratulations, Rhany!
Congratulations to Senior Emma Boccone for earning Walt Whitman’s January Athlete of the Month! Emma was recently named All-Long Island in Sabre by the fencing coaches association after a notable season. The senior has been a member of the fencing program for four seasons and has always loved that it’s an individual sport. Emma went from 39th place at the Brentwood Holiday Tournament as a freshman to medalling 8th as a senior. Also in 2022, Emma placed 5th at the County Tournament. Congratulations, Emma!
