Welcome Back Wildcats! District

Written by Liz DeMonte | Sep 2, 2021 4:00:00 AM

Summer vacation has officially ended as September 1st marks the first day for the 2021/2022 school year. Our seniors took the tradition of being early risers, joining together on Whitman’s turf field to mark the beginning of their final chapter in South Huntington. As the seniors prepare for their last year as Wildcats, kindergarteners and their parents continue the cycle by taking their first steps into Countrywood and Oakwood Primary Centers.

“We are all well aware of the legacy of excellence that has been building in South Huntington Schools, and look forward to continuing this forward progress in the year to come,” shared Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Vito D’Elia, “There is a bright, beautiful journey ahead, and we welcome you to join us as our students, staff, and parents join hands to write the finest chapter in our district’s history.”

Whitman’s seniors ended their last first week of high school with the traditional senior sunrise, joining together on the turf field to mark the beginning of their final chapter in South Huntington.

Our youngest students came prepared with brand new school supplies and classroom essentials.

The rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of our students and their families arriving back to school.

Whitman's high schoolers had time to catch up on their first day back from summer vacation, just in time for the morning bell.

We look forward to having a happy and healthy school year!
