We are proud to recognize Walt Whitman High School students for earning the 2021-2022 Junior Achievement Gold Award, the highest level that school partners of the Junior Achievement of New York can achieve. Students at Walt Whitman have participated in this program in the past, yet this is the first time that students of the high school’s National Business Honor Society participated and received the gold award.

Junior Achievement enables students to experience financial decision making while igniting their interests in future academic and career decisions and preparing them for the workforce beyond their high school careers. “This is a big deal, especially in this being the first year of this group's participation. It’s a great accomplishment,” said Walt Whitman High School Principal, Mr. Costa. To receive the gold award this year, Whitman’s students participated in two or more Junior Achievement events, including the Junior Achievement Career Speakers Series.
