Congratulations to Walt Whitman’s Girls Varsity Basketball Team on becoming the Suffolk County Class AAA Champions for the second year in a row! On Sunday, March 3, 2024, the team claimed the championship win over #1 seeded Commack, 36-45. Kathleen O'Mara led the way with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Brianna Verga added 9 points and 9 big rebounds while Iris Hoffman scored 11 points with 6 rebounds. Paige Hiller, Jaz Julien, Kallie Eichner, Bella Fiorelli, Madi Richter, and Grace Davis all stepped up to make big plays and significantly impacted the game with lockdown defense.
The Wildcats will take on Syosset in the Long Island Championships on Sunday, March 10th at Farmingdale State College at 5pm.
