WWHS Junior Philip Clark Set to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Congratulations to Walt Whitman High School junior Phillip Clark who has been selected for the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall and will perform at the renowned concert hall with the Concert Choir on Sunday, February 9th. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated young performers worldwide.
Phil auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and was recently accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in their application and audition recording.
Phil will join performers from all over the world for a special performance at the world famous Carnegie Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement. The finalists will come together in New York City, where they will have the opportunity to learn from world-renowned conductors, work with other performers, and get a taste of the city. The Honors Performance takes place this Sunday and is open to the public.
Phil has studied music for eight years and is a member of the Walt Whitman Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Walt Whitman Dance Program, Winter Guard, CenterStage Productions, and Voices of Walt Whitman. He is President of the Theater Honor Society, a member of the TriM Music Honor Society, a member of the Natural Helpers group at his school, an AP Capstone student, and volunteers at his local church, St. Luke Lutheran Church in Dix Hills. Phil is looking forward to this new performance opportunity. “I am excited to meet new people, work with the talented artists that will instruct us, and perform on the stage of Carnegie Hall,” said Phil.

Working with these conductors and performing at these renowned music halls is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that these musicians will never forget.”
The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual student performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in world renowned venues.
