Walt Whitman Girls Basketball Team Heading to the Suffolk County Championship

The Walt Whitman High School Girls Varsity Basketball team advances to the Section XI AAA Finals after a fantastic 51-38 home win over Copiague in the semifinals. The team now has 20 wins and 1 loss this season to head to their 4th straight Suffolk County Championship game.
Jaz Julien led the team with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Madi Richter scored 17 points while Paige Hiller had 10 and Hannah Creighton hit a 3-pointer at the end of the 1st quarter to give the Wildcats a 5-point lead. Bella Fiorelli's suffocating defense has been a key to the team's success all season and she once again held the opponent's point guard below her average.
The #1 Wildcats take on #2 William Floyd in the AAA County Championship Game at Stony Brook University on Friday, March 6th at 8 p.m. Tickets for the championship game are required and can be purchased online here.
The Walt Whitman Girls Basketball team won its first county title in the program’s history in 2023 and then came back even stronger in 2024 to win its first-ever county championship. Go Wildcats!
