Protocol for Public Participation at October 1, 2024 Presentation to the Board of Education Regarding Potential Elementary Realignment

• Speakers are limited to no more than three (3) minutes.

• A speaker may not speak more than once, regardless of whether they used the entirety of their three (3) minute allotment.

• A speaker may not transfer any unused portion of their three (3) minute allotment to another speaker.

• All speakers must state their name and speak at one of the District provided microphones; no speaker may speak from their seat in the auditorium.

• All speakers must register onsite to speak using the District provided Chromebook; speakers will be called to speak in the order that they signed in.  

• No speaker may present any audio or video materials.

• No signage or any other item that may obstruct the view of the audience is permitted in the auditorium.  

• Speakers should direct their comments to the Board of Education and not the audience.

• Speakers (and the audience) are expected to always maintain decorum and refrain from cursing, shouting, or personal insults.  

• Any questions or comments should be directed to the President of the Board of Education, who responds to such questions and comments on behalf of the Board, and not to one individual member.

Protocolos para la participación del público en la presentación del 1 de octubre de 2024 al Consejo de Educación sobre la posible reordenación de las escuelas primarias

• Los oradores no podrán intervenir más de tres (3) minutos.

• Un orador no podrá intervenir más de una vez, independientemente de que haya utilizado o no la totalidad de los tres (3) minutos que le corresponden.

• Un orador no podrá transferir a otro orador la parte no utilizada de su asignación de tres (3) minutos.

• Todos los oradores deben decir su nombre y hablar en uno de los micrófonos proporcionados por el Distrito; ningún orador puede hablar desde su asiento en el auditorio.

• Todos los oradores deben registrarse en el sitio para hablar usando el Chromebook proporcionado por el Distrito; los oradores serán llamados a hablar en el orden en que se registraron.  

• Ningún orador podrá presentar material de audio o vídeo.

• No se permite en el auditorio ningún cartel ni ningún otro elemento que pueda obstaculizar la visión del público.  

• Los oradores deben dirigir sus comentarios al Consejo de Educación y no al público.

• Se espera que los oradores (y el público) mantengan siempre el decoro y se abstengan de maldecir, gritar o proferir insultos personales.  

• Cualquier pregunta o comentario debe dirigirse al Presidente del Consejo de Educación, que responde a tales preguntas y comentarios en nombre del Consejo, y no a un miembro individual.
