To All South Huntington Families,

I hope this message finds our entire South Huntington community enjoying their summer months, getting time to enjoy the weather with family and friends.  The purpose of this message is to inform our school community that Huntington Hospital will be utilizing Walt Whitman High School on Sunday, August 10th, from approximately 7am-12pm, to conduct an emergency preparedness exercise.  During this time the hospital will be utilizing the North side of the building, including the North Gymnasium and parking lot.

This simulation is a vital opportunity to strengthen community safety through proactive planning, crisis response initiatives, and coordinated training. Throughout the morning, hospital staff will work alongside local first responders, including the Suffolk County Police Department, Emergency Management Services, and local area fire departments. Please note that during this exercise, there will be an increased presence of police, ambulances, and fire rescue vehicles on the high school campus.

Thank you and have a great day.

Respectfully,

Vito M. D’Elia Ed.D.
